What is an RFP?
RFP is short for Request for Proposal. It provides the requirements of those wishing to submit a proposal and the SEO services to be provided.

What is an RFP's purpose?
An RFP can be used in conjunction with or instead (not a good idea) of a contractual agreement. In some cases it includes a start date and finish date, services to be provided, contact information for the party requesting Proposals, services being requested, details about skills that may be required to quote on the Request. A short history of any previous SEO services and providing a budget, though not a pre-requisite, to be taken seriously it is strongly recommended to provided some indication of budget calculated either monthly or yearly.

How is it used on SeoPros?
An RFP is used for 3 purposes on this site.

• it provides members with information about your organization so a more meaningful quote can be obtained for the search engine optimization, submission and linking services you require

• it is used in mediation between members and consumers (were the requirements of the proposal fulfilled by the member)

• Member review purposes

Since members are required to perform according to the "best practices" standards of the organization it is important that we have a clear understanding of what your requirements of the member were.

What are the benefits of an RFP?
The RFP and the Proposal resulting from the RFP submission, in a sense, constitute a legal agreement. The RFP provides the required services sought and some general information about the manner in which the services sought are to be performed. The resulting Proposal outlines the costs and the manner in which the services are to be performed.

An RFP provides the means to compare quotes accurately since all quotes are generated from the same set of criteria. Simply put you are comparing apples to apples. The Proposal outlines the cost and how the service is to be performed making it easier to evaluate quotes.
